As Brasov in Romania is trying to position itself on the global entertainment map, the city beautiful is inviting filmmakers from around the world to participate in an international film extravaganza.

Brasov International Film Festival & Market – taking place September 4 – 14 in Brasov, is ready to highlight the benefits that Brasov provides to local and global filmmakers.

The city not only offers beautiful locales and low-cost film production facilities, but it also opens a gateway for the filmmakers to explore the emerging markets in Europe.

“It is the most important nonviolent international film festival. The selected films can consider their Festival screenings as European premieres and they can open new distribution markets through their participation here,” suggests Daria Trifu, founder and Festival director.

The Festival will take place at the Reduta Cultural Center that houses a 350 seat theatre and it is situated a few steps from the old city center.

Brasov is located in the central part of the country, about 166 km north of Bucharest. It is surrounded by the Southern Carpathian Mountains and it is part of the Transylvania region.

The city is situated 20 minutes from the infamous Dracula Castle and 12 km from the Olympic winter resort town of Poiana Brasov.

Meanwhile, the Festival has extended the deadline for film submissions from May 30 to June 20, 2014.

Filmmakers from all parts of the world can submit their films to participate in the Festival. Film submissions are also being accepted online.

And according to the organizers, inquiries are being entertained over the phone at 646-300-9232 (USA number).
