Meanwhile, “Coyote vs. Acme” secured the third position, generating over 20.8 million dollars globally.

The global theatrical market showed immense strength for the weekend ending September 6, 2026, driven by a powerful mix of blockbuster sequels, acclaimed dramas, and strong international specialty titles.
At the very top of the charts, Universal Pictures’ “The Odyssey” took the leading crown with a worldwide weekend haul of $45,963,000. The film’s performance was heavily supported by international territories, which contributed $32,963,000 to the weekend total, alongside $13,000,000 from domestic screens. This successful weekend pushes the cumulative global total for “The Odyssey” to a staggering $1,627,337,000, solidifying its status as one of the year’s biggest cinematic achievements across 85 active international markets.
Right on its heels, Sony’s “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” continued its historic run, pulling in another $44,100,000 over the weekend. The web-slinging sequel split its earnings between $18,000,000 domestically and $26,100,000 internationally across 68 territories. With these additional figures, the film’s absolute cumulative box office earnings have climbed to $2,402,762,000, securing its place deep in the record books.

In third place, the hybrid live-action and animated feature “Coyote vs. Acme” performed robustly, taking in $20,834,583 globally. The domestic market led the film’s weekend with $11,338,583, while international markets added $9,496,000. This brings its cumulative worldwide total to $57,301,597 across 33 territories.
