Comcast and Amazon have announced the launch of Amazon Luna, a cloud gaming service, on millions of Xfinity TV and streaming devices across the U.S.. Starting immediately, Xfinity customers who have an eligible X1 or Xfinity Xumo Stream Box can now enjoy Amazon Luna’s vast collection of high-quality video games directly alongside their other favorite entertainment.
To begin playing, customers can simply say “Luna” into their voice remote and then sign in with either an Amazon Prime or Luna Premium subscription. Customers have the option to pair a Luna controller or any compatible Bluetooth controller.
The service grants access to popular titles like Hogwarts Legacy and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Further enhancing accessibility, the recently redesigned Amazon Luna now offers Prime members access to more than 50 games at no extra cost. This selection includes accessible, family-friendly GameNight experiences like The Jackbox Party Pack 9 and Courtroom Chaos: Starring Snoop Dogg. These GameNight experiences are optimized for in-person, party game play on the living-room TV and sometimes require no controller, allowing players to join the fun by simply scanning a QR code on the screen with their mobile phone.

Jeff Gattis, General Manager for Amazon Luna, stated that the company is focused on making gaming more accessible, noting that the collaboration with Comcast allows them to reach a greater number of customers across the U.S.. Fraser Stirling, Global Chief Product Officer at Comcast, emphasized that Xfinity is “redefining what it means to game on the big screen”.
This unique gaming experience is integrated seamlessly into Xfinity’s TV and streaming devices, powered by Comcast’s global entertainment platform, Entertainment OS. This platform blends cloud gaming, live TV, streaming apps, and on-demand content into a single, easy-to-navigate interface. The Entertainment OS platform is also used by Comcast’s global syndication partners, including Rogers, who is also launching Amazon Luna on its Rogers Xfinity Streaming devices.
For cloud gamers, who rely on low latency and fast speeds, the experience is backed by the nation’s most reliable WiFi network. Comcast has engineered the Xfinity network to address the connectivity demands of gamers, offering multi-gig speeds and ultra-low latency for reliable and smooth gameplay. The company has also implemented technology to offer an even smoother, more responsive gaming experience with dramatically less lag.
This expanded availability arrives as cloud gaming continues to grow rapidly on the Xfinity network. According to the company, gaming-related traffic has increased 30% over the past year alone, putting it on track to double every three years. This trend is part of the broader category of streamed entertainment, which today accounts for over 70% of total network traffic.
