22 European Academy Award Entries Scheduled for LA Screenings

European Film Promotion (EFP) members have decided to help their national Academy Award entries generate as much attention as possible during the forthcoming awards season in Los Angeles.

A record-breaking 22 films from across Europe (compared to 14 films in 2013 and 10 in 2012) submitted for consideration as Best Foreign Language Film are scheduled to be showcased at European Film Promotion’s LA screening series which is running from October 29 till November 10.

Financial support comes from the MEDIA Programme of the European Union and the participating EFP member organisations.

For the seventh year running, EFP is presenting a selection of European Academy Award entries with clear potential for US and wide international distribution.

These European highlights of the year will include 1001 Grams by Bent Hamer (Norway), Ida by Paweł Pawlikowski (Poland) and Human Capital by Paolo Virzi (Italy).

EFP’s screenings will be held at the Wilshire Screening Room in Beverly Hills.

A record 83 countries have submitted films this year for consideration in the Foreign Language Film category for the 87th Academy Awards.
