Academy Reveals Dates for Milestone 100th Oscars and 2026 Awards Season Schedule

The final stretch of the 2027 season begins with finals voting on February 25, concluding on March 4, 2027, just ahead of the March 14 ceremony.

LOS ANGELES — The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and ABC have officially set the dates for the next two years of cinematic celebrations, including the landmark centennial telecast. The 99th Oscars are scheduled to air on Sunday, March 14, 2027, followed by the historic 100th Oscars on Sunday, March 5, 2028.

Both ceremonies will be broadcast live from the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT. The Academy, an organization representing over 11,000 premier film industry artists and leaders, expects the broadcast to reach more than 200 territories globally.

In addition to the ceremony dates, the Academy released a comprehensive timeline for the 2026 awards season. The eligibility window for films will run from January 1, 2026, through December 31, 2026. Filmmakers must meet a final submission deadline for General Entry categories, Best Picture, and Animated Feature films by November 12, 2026.

Other critical milestones for the 99th Oscars season include:

  • Governors Awards: Sunday, November 15, 2026
  • Shortlists Announcement: Tuesday, December 15, 2026
  • Nominations Announcement: Thursday, January 21, 2027
  • Nominees Luncheon: Tuesday, February 16, 2027
