LOS ANGELES — According to the latest worldwide box office estimates for the weekend ending January 25, 2026, Disney continues to hold a firm grip on the global film market with its top-performing sequels.
Disney’s Double Victory: Avatar: Fire and Ash secured the number one spot for the weekend, bringing in $35.1 million globally. The film has now reached a massive worldwide cumulative total of $1,378,692,585, with international territories contributing over $1 billion of that figure.
Close behind in the second position is Zootopia 2, which earned $25.7 million over the weekend. While it sits below Avatar in weekly rankings, its total global footprint is even larger, boasting a cumulative total of $1,744,027,846 to date.
International Hits and New Contenders: The third spot was claimed by The Housemaid, which brought in $25.5 million for the weekend. The film has shown strong staying power with a total cume of $294.9 million across 74 international territories.
The weekend also highlighted several fresh entries in the top rankings:
- Mercy debuted at #4, earning $22.8 million.
- Return to Silent Hill followed at #5 with $19.3 million.
- The sequel Border 2 took the sixth spot, earning $18.1 million from only 14 territories.
Rounding Out the Top Ten: In the bottom half of the top ten, A24’s Marty Supreme earned $11.9 million, bringing its total to $116.3 million. Hamnet followed at #8 with $10.7 million, while the horror sequel 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple sat at #9 with $9.6 million for the weekend.
Finally, The Spongebob Movie: Search for Squarepants held the tenth position, adding $5.2 million to its total global earnings of $153.6 million.
