HYDERABAD, India (March 12, 2026) — Netflix has officially inaugurated Eyeline Studios, its global production and innovation hub, in Hyderabad, marking a significant long-term investment in India’s Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Comics (AVGC) sector. This move positions India as a core node in global production pipelines, integrating advanced visual effects and next-generation production technology.
The new 32,000-square-foot facility features state-of-the-art technology for advanced visual effects and generative virtual effects, all supported by a robust hybrid cloud infrastructure. As the fifth global location for Eyeline Studios—joining Los Angeles, Vancouver, Seoul, and London—the Hyderabad office is designed as a fully integrated part of a global network dedicated to high-end visual storytelling.
Jeff Shapiro, CEO of Eyeline Studios, stated that Hyderabad was selected for its “depth of creative and technical talent,” noting that the city’s film culture “understands ambition”. He emphasized that the local talent combines artistic craft with the technical precision necessary to contribute meaningfully to global storytelling.
The inauguration was attended by several high-ranking officials, including Telangana Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy, who described Hyderabad as a “natural home” for Netflix where “creativity, technology, and global talent converge”. Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Secretary Sanjay Jaju added that the studio’s arrival is a perfect fit for a city with a rich history in AVGC and home to major cinematic successes like Baahubali.
The project aligns with a broader national focus on skilling and digital production, aimed at strengthening India’s position as a global hub for creative technology. D. Sridhar Babu, Minister for IT, Electronics & Communications, noted that the government’s objective is to build a premier talent pool across VFX and animation, making Hyderabad “the capital of storytelling”.
Local industry figures also welcomed the development. Actor and producer Rana Daggubati reflected on the city’s progress over the last two decades, stating that Eyeline Studios’ presence supports the local industry in a “phenomenal way” and creates a “great future for anyone who wants to be an artist” or storyteller.
