PARK CITY, UTAH — The Sundance Institute has officially announced the selection for the 2026 Sundance Film Festival, featuring a lineup of 90 feature films and seven episodic projects. This landmark edition, which includes the previously announced Park City Legacy program for a total of 105 projects, is scheduled to take place from January 22 to February 1, 2026, in Park City and Salt Lake City, Utah. For audiences across the country, a curated online program will also be available from January 29 to February 1.
The 2026 Festival is designed as a profound tribute to the vision of founder Robert Redford, whose influence has redefined global independent cinema. During the event’s second half, the Park City Legacy program will celebrate this history through archival screenings of iconic films and talks with notable festival alumni.
The selected features represent a diverse global landscape, with films hailing from 28 different countries and territories. Highlighting the festival’s commitment to new talent, 40% of the feature directors are first-time filmmakers, and a staggering 97% of the projects will be world premieres. These final selections were chosen from a massive pool of 16,201 submissions from 164 countries.
Among the early highlights, the festival announced that the 2026 Alfred P. Sloan Feature Film Prize has been awarded to In The Blink of An Eye, directed by Andrew Stanton. Additionally, the documentary Cookie Queens has been designated as the Salt Lake City Celebration film, set to premiere on January 24.
For those looking to attend, single film tickets for both in-person and online screenings will go on sale beginning January 14, 2026, at 10 a.m. MT. Proceeds from these sales continue to support the nonprofit Sundance Institute’s year-round efforts to develop and mentor emerging artists.
With its blend of world-first screenings and retrospective honors, the festival acts as a vibrant bridge, connecting the pioneering spirit of its founding history with the bold, uncharted voices of the next generation of storytellers.
