Danielle Brooks and Lewis Pullman Set to Unveil 98th Oscars Nominations in Global Live Broadcast

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which oversees the honors, remains the world’s premier film organization, boasting a global membership of more than 11,000 accomplished film industry artists and leaders.

LOS ANGELES — The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced that Oscar-nominated actor Danielle Brooks and actor Lewis Pullman will reveal the nominees for the 98th Oscars. The highly anticipated announcement is scheduled for the early morning of Thursday, January 22, 2026, beginning at 5:30 a.m. PST.

A Multi-Platform Global Event

The presentation will take place live from the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater and will be broadcast across a massive array of digital and traditional platforms to reach a global audience. Viewers can tune in via Oscar.com, Oscars.org, and the Academy’s social media profiles on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook.

In a push for broad accessibility, the Academy will provide American Sign Language (ASL) services on its YouTube channel, and live captions will be available across all streaming platforms. Additionally, the reveal will be carried by ABC’s Good Morning America, ABC News Live, Disney+, and Hulu.

The Two-Phase Rollout

The announcement of all 24 Academy Award categories will be split into two segments to build momentum throughout the morning.

  • Starting at 5:30 a.m. PST: The first wave of categories will include Supporting Actor and Actress, both Screenplay categories (Adapted and Original), and technical awards such as Costume Design and Makeup and Hairstyling.
  • Starting at 5:41 a.m. PST: The second phase will feature many of the “top-tier” categories, including Best Picture, Directing, and the Leading Actor and Actress awards, along with Animated Feature Film and Documentary Feature Film.

Other categories expected throughout the presentation include International Feature Film, Visual Effects, and Sound. A full press kit will be released via the Academy Press Office immediately following the conclusion of the broadcast.

Countdown to the 98th Oscars

This nominations event serves as the official kickoff for the final stretch of the awards season. The 98th Oscars ceremony itself is scheduled to take place on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood. The gala will be televised live on ABC and streamed on Hulu, reaching audiences in more than 200 territories worldwide.
