HYDERABAD – The cinematic world is abuzz as director Sandeep Reddy Vanga officially unveiled the first look of Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi in his upcoming pan-India action thriller, Spirit. Starring Prabhas in the lead role, the film is now confirmed for a massive worldwide theatrical release on March 5, 2027.
A Menacing New Rival
In a striking character poster released on February 27, 2026, Vivek Oberoi is introduced as the primary antagonist. The visual captures Oberoi exuding a brooding authority in a luxurious maroon robe and sunglasses, clutching a sword. The poster also introduces newcomer Aishwarya Desai in a significant role, seen alongside Oberoi in an opulent, high-stakes setting.
Teasing his character on social media, Oberoi described the role as “a mystery buried in shadows,” effectively quashing long-standing rumors that a Korean actor would play the main villain.
Prabhas as the “Brutal” Lawman
Spirit marks the first collaboration between Prabhas and Vanga. The Baahubali star portrays an intense, “brutal yet honest” police officer. Early promotional materials, including a “sound story” and a New Year’s Day poster, have teased a raw, volatile world consistent with Vanga’s previous blockbusters Kabir Singh and Animal.
Global Ambitions and Production
Produced by Bhushan Kumar (T-Series) and Bhadrakali Pictures, Spirit is being mounted on a lavish scale with plans for a global footprint. The film will be released in eight languages, including:
Indian: Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.
International: Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.

Female Lead: Triptii Dimri stars opposite Prabhas, stepping into the role after the departure of Deepika Padukone.
Supporting Cast: The film features veteran actor Kanchana; however, recent reports suggest Prakash Raj may no longer be part of the project following creative differences.
