EFP European Film Promotion has officially announced the ten rising actors selected for the 29th edition of European Shooting Stars. This prestigious initiative, supported by the Creative Europe MEDIA Programme, aims to provide emerging talent with the international visibility required to succeed on a global stage.
The 2026 cohort will be presented to the film industry, press, and public at the 76th Berlin International Film Festival, scheduled to run from February 12 to 22, 2026. During the festival, the actors will participate in a four-day program featuring networking sessions, industry meetings, and a high-profile red-carpet appearance at the Berlinale Palast.
A Diverse Selection of Talent: An international jury of five film experts—including Academy Award-winning director Danis Tanović and actress Danica Ćurčić—selected the winners from a competitive field of nominees. The jury based its decisions on standout performances in recent films and drama series, looking for actors with strong artistic range and clear international potential.
The selected 2026 European Shooting Stars are:
- Fatlume Bunjaku (Albania)
- Lucas Englander (Austria)
- Violet Braeckman (Belgium)
- Salif Cissé (France)
- Enno Trebs (Germany)
- Danielle Galligan (Ireland)
- Tecla Insolia (Italy), the youngest of the group
- Joes Brauers (The Netherlands)
- Sofia Tjelta Sydness (Norway)
- Cleo Diára (Portugal)
A Stepping-Stone to Global Success: Programme director Tina Hajon described the group as “some of the most exciting new voices Europe has to offer,” noting that the platform is essential for highlighting the diversity of European storytelling.
The program has a long-standing reputation as a pivotal career stepping-stone. Over its 29-year history, it has featured several actors who went on to achieve global stardom, including Alicia Vikander, Riz Ahmed, Carey Mulligan, and Bill Skarsgård.
By connecting these actors with key decision-makers at a crucial moment in their careers, the European Shooting Stars initiative continues to serve as a launchpad for the next generation of international cinema icons.
