The iconic battle from the arcade is moving to the big screen in the upcoming film Street Fighter: A New Legacy of Fury, scheduled for release on October 16th, 2026. Directed by Kitao Sakurai, this Action/Adventure feature will bring the franchise’s signature combat to audiences worldwide.

Set in 1993, the story centers on the reunion of estranged fighters Ryu, played by Andrew Koji, and Ken Masters, portrayed by Noah Centineo. The duo is recruited by the mysterious Chun-Li (Callina Liang) to participate in the World Warrior Tournament, which the source describes as a “brutal clash of fists, fate, and fury”.

The film’s plot suggests a deeper narrative beyond the ring, involving a deadly conspiracy that forces the two friends to face off against each other and confront the “demons of their past”. Production highlights include the inclusion of classic moves such as Hadoukens and roundhouses, alongside a roster of “all your favorite characters”.
