Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone appears in the new Team India jersey, which the Indian cricket team will wear in the upcoming matches in Australia and New Zealand.
According to Nike, the new lightweight team kit combines high performance innovation with sustainability: each kit (jersey and bottoms) is made out of an average of 33 recycled plastic bottles.
Nike, the official apparel sponsor of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), crafted the latest Team India uniform in a new design.

This isn’t Padukone’s first foray into sport. She comes from a lineage of badminton world champions. Before taking to the Bollywood films, the actress also competed at the national level badminton matches.

“As a cricket fan and active athlete, I felt a great sense of pride when I first put on the national team jersey. Cricket is the biggest sport in India and the passion for the game is incredible across the country,” said Padukone. “Like every cricket fan, I look forward to great success for Team India in 2015.”
Team India kits are now available at select Nike India retail and through Nike website.
