LOS ANGELES — The Golden Globes has officially announced a new primetime television event, “Golden Eve: The Golden Globes Honor Helen Mirren & Sarah Jessica Parker,” set to air on Thursday, January 8, 2026. This special broadcast will serve as a high-profile prelude to the 83rd Annual Golden Globes, focusing specifically on the career achievements of two of the industry’s most respected performers.
Honoring Film and Television Icons: The evening will center on the presentation of two of the organization’s highest honors. Helen Mirren is the recipient of the 2026 Cecil B. Joining her is Sarah Jessica Parker, who will receive the 2026 Carol Burnett Award. Established in 2019, this award recognizes individuals who have made outstanding contributions to television; past recipients include industry giants such as Norman Lear and Ellen DeGeneres.
A Gathering of Hollywood Elite: The special will feature an array of major stars and former honorees. Harrison Ford is scheduled to present the Cecil B. DeMille Award to Mirren. The broadcast will also feature appearances by:

Broadcasting and Event Details: Produced by Dick Clark Productions in association with White Cherry Entertainment, the special will air at 8:00 PM ET/PT on the CBS Television Network and will be available for streaming on Paramount+. This celebration sets the stage for the 83rd Annual Golden Globes, the first major awards show of the season, which will be hosted by comedian Nikki Glaser on Sunday, January 11, 2026. Beyond the glitz of the ceremony, the Golden Globes continues its legacy of philanthropy, having donated more than $55 million to entertainment-related charities and humanitarian efforts over the last 30 years.
To understand the structure of these events, one might think of “Golden Eve” as the elegant gallery opening that celebrates the lifetime work of master artists, while the Golden Globes ceremony itself is the grand unveiling of the year’s newest masterpieces.
