Apple has officially opened Apple Music Hall, a state-of-the-art 600-capacity live music venue and broadcast facility located inside London’s historic Battersea Power Station. The venue integrates a 48-speaker Spatial Audio sound system, a 38-foot reconfigurable stage, and professional recording studios that allow artists to record, mix, and stream live performances globally. Additionally, Apple Music Radio has relocated its London broadcast studios to the Battersea location.

LONDON — Apple has announced the opening of Apple Music Hall, a state-of-the-art live music venue situated inside the historic Battersea Power Station along the River Thames in London. Designed to offer bespoke, intimate live performances, the location combines bespoke acoustic design with direct global broadcasting capabilities.

Oliver Schusser, Apple vice president of Apple Music and International Content, highlighted the company’s long-standing dedication to live and recorded music, noting that Apple Music Hall represents an unprecedented step forward in supporting both performing artists and music fans.

Architecture and Performance Space

The 600-capacity venue draws architectural inspiration from Battersea Power Station, featuring heritage brickwork, fluted arches, and bronze balconies reminiscent of historic oriel windows. A massive glass wall offers views across the concourse and out toward the River Thames.

The performance area features a 38-foot-wide stage that can be reconfigured for traditional front-facing setups or in-the-round performances. Sound distribution is handled by an custom 48-speaker Spatial Audio sound system surrounding the audience, delivering an immersive acoustic environment for concertgoers.

Production Facilities and Broadcast Infrastructure

Beyond the main hall, the facility functions as a complete audio and video production studio. Key technical features include:

Dedicated Recording Studios: Two professional recording and mixing studios capable of capturing multitrack audio and producing live or post-performance Spatial Audio mixes.
Camera and Broadcast Systems: The venue is hardwired for 16 or more cameras connected to a custom broadcast control room. The system supports iPhone video capture operating alongside traditional broadcast cameras.
Streamlined Output: Performers can complete a single live show and immediately receive a finished Spatial Audio recording, a broadcast-ready mix, and multicamera video footage.

Select live performances at Apple Music Hall will be livestreamed globally to subscribers on Apple Music.

Zane Lowe, Apple Music global creative director and lead anchor for Apple Music 1, emphasized that the space was created to foster deeper connections between artists and listeners, providing a modern stage for intimate live events shared worldwide.

Apple Music Radio London Studios

In tandem with the venue launch, Apple announced that all London-based Apple Music Radio hosts and programming will now broadcast live from new dedicated studios inside Battersea Power Station. The radio facility includes studio spaces, artist lounges, and greenrooms designed for live interviews and guest performances.
