The exclusive first-look clip highlights the returning Constable Shane Bradley, played by Frank Blake. In a bid to improve the crime statistics for the Blackthorn station, Bradley is seen stopping an elderly driver named David (Trevor Gill) and his passenger, Imelda (Rosamund Monteith). A Star-Studded Ensemble Returns: Series 4 will see the return of the show’s core cast, including Siân Brooke as Grace, Martin McCann as Stevie, Katherine Devlin as Annie, and Nathan Braniff as Tommy. Frank Blake also reprises his role as Shane.
In a development that will likely intrigue long-term viewers, Richard Dormer is set to return. Dormer, who portrayed Gerry Cliff in the first series, will appear alongside Hannah McClean as Jen Robinson and Jonathan Harden as the disgraced former Inspector, Jonty. The BBC notes that this series aims to answer “important questions from the past”.
The expansive cast also includes:
- Joanne Crawford as Helen McNally.
- Andi Osho as Sandra.
- Cathy Tyson as private members club owner Dana Morgan.
- Michael Smiley as C3 intelligence officer Paul ‘Colly’ Collins.
Behind the Scenes of the Global Hit: The new series consists of six 60-minute episodes. It is co-created, written, and executive produced by the duo Declan Lawn and Adam Patterson. Production is handled by Two Cities Television and Gallagher Films, with support from Northern Ireland Screen.
