‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ Struts to Victory as Global Box Office Cume Hits $433 Million

Universal’s The Super Mario Galaxy Movie continues its march toward the billion-dollar milestone.

LOS ANGELES — Disney’s highly anticipated sequel, The Devil Wears Prada 2, continued its dominant run at the global box office this weekend, securing the number one spot with an estimated $118.8 million worldwide. The film has now reached a massive global cumulative total of $433.2 million, fueled by strong international performance across 52 territories.

Trailing closely in second place is the biopic Michael, which earned an impressive $95 million over the weekend. The Universal Pictures International release is proving to be a long-term powerhouse, with its total worldwide earnings now reaching $577.4 million.

Action and Animation Debut Strong

The weekend also saw several major new releases enter the charts. Warner Bros.’ Mortal Kombat II fought its way into third place, opening with $63 million worldwide. Meanwhile, the animated feature The Sheep Detectives captured the fourth spot, bringing in $28 million in its debut weekend.

Music fans also made their presence felt as Billie Eilish – Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D) opened in sixth place. The concert film generated $20.1 million globally, with $12.6 million of that coming from international markets.

Milestones and Holdovers

Universal’s The Super Mario Galaxy Movie continues its march toward the billion-dollar milestone. Adding $21.4 million this weekend, the film’s total worldwide cume now stands at a staggering $941.2 million. Amazon MGM’s Project Hail Mary also remains in the top ten, crossing the $655 million mark in total earnings.

Rounding out the top ten were international titles Dear You, Vanishing Point, and Cold War 1994, which collectively drew significant audiences in overseas markets.
