Mamata Banerjee to Confer Bengal Tele Academy Awards

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will confer Tele Academy Awards 2016-17 today at Nazrul Manch from 5 PM.

The prize distribution will be followed by a cultural program with performances by Bengali television artists.

The West Bengal Tele Academy Awards covers the entire array of television productions, rewarding excellence in production, programming, photography and technology, among others.

According to a government statement, the awards have been constituted as a token of respect and gratitude to the entire Film and TV industry in West Bengal.

Actors and technicians working in the television industry will be awarded for their outstanding performances through their career as well as in the last year. A Hall of Fame recognition has also been instituted since 2015.
