On September 2nd, Richard Lewis’s “Bundle of Nerves,” a 2-disc box set, will be released. The set features films spanning four decades now available on DVD with added perspective-ridden commentary tracks.

From the time vault is the 1979 classic, “Diary of a Young Comic”, the cult film Diary was an early production from Lorne Michaels’ Broadway Video. Also in the exclusive set is the critically acclaimed 1995 film in which Lewis takes the dramatic lead, “Drunks,” directed by Peter Cohn and features award winners to include Faye Dunaway, Dianne Weist, Sam Rockwell and more.

The set includes the HBO special “Magical Misery Tour,” taped live at the historic Bottom Line in NYC in 1996. A fresh documentary features Lewis’s former Hollywood Hills home. Self-moderated, he shares his passion for the arts and his career through Lewisian artifacts.

The cover art was by friend and Rolling Stone, Ron Wood. The “Bundle of Nerves” box set is being released through North America by Video Services Corp.

Set for screening at the 2014 Venice Film Festival is the Peter Bogdanovich film, “She’s Funny That Way,” with a release in 2015. Lewis plays against type as a macho dude, the father of the main character. The film includes a wild ensemble featuring Jennifer Aniston, Owen Wilson, Cybill Shepherd, Owen Wilson, Imogen Poots and more.

In 2015, his second book, “Reflections from Hell”, will be on shelves, published by Powerhouse Books. Lewis collaborates with famed NY artist Carl Nicholas Titolo. Lewis’s darkly humorous thoughts are shown through the imagery of the artist. Lewis’s first book was “The Other Great Depression,” (2000) where he bared his darker side and his fight with overcoming alcoholism.
