Warner Bros to Release Tomb Raider Based on Video Game

Tomb Raider – starring Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft – is about her adventurous journey that she begins to solve the mystery of her father’s disappearance.

It is an American action-adventure film directed by Roar Uthaug and written by Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Alastair Siddons, from a story by Evan Daugherty and Robertson-Dworet.

The film is based on the 2013 video game of the same name and is the next in the Tomb Raider film series. The film also stars Dominic West, Walton Goggins, Daniel Wu, and Kristin Scott Thomas in supporting roles.

Principal photography took place from January to June 2017 at the Warner Bros. Studios in the United Kingdom and in Cape Town, South Africa.

The first Tomb Raider film not to be distributed by Paramount Pictures, this new version is scheduled to be released in the United States by Warner Bros. Pictures on March 16, 2018 in RealD 3D, IMAX 3D, and IMAX.
