Enter the Dance of Dragons

Warner Bros. Games and HBO have announced the global rollout of Game of Thrones: Dragonfire, a new mobile strategy experience developed by Warner Bros. Games Boston. Inspired by the Emmy Award-winning drama House of the Dragon, the game places players in the heart of the Targaryen Civil War as rising dragonriders seeking to dominate the Seven Kingdoms.

Master the Skies and the Battlefield

At the core of the experience is the ability to hatch, raise, and command dragons. At launch, the game features 28 unique dragons, including fan favorites like Caraxes and Syrax, alongside original beasts created specifically for the game. Each dragon possesses distinct “Command” skills, passive “Habit” abilities, and troop affinities that allow for deep strategic customization.

We’re thrilled to bring Game of Thrones: Dragonfire to mobile players with an immersive strategy experience that is very authentic to ‘House of the Dragon.’

— JB Perrette, CEO and President, Global Streaming and Games, Warner Bros. Discovery.

The gameplay blends modern mobile strategy with large-scale tactical maneuvers. Players can field up to five dragon-led armies simultaneously, engaging in coordinated marches and strategic assaults across a tiled map of Westeros. For those seeking more direct action, the Dragon Strike minigame allows players to manually fly their dragons to evade obstacles and incinerate enemies.

A Living, Evolving Westeros

Game of Thrones: Dragonfire introduces a “living world” mechanic through limited-time seasonal Reigns. While player competition and territory control reset with each season to maintain a balanced playing field, permanent progress—such as dragon growth—remains, ensuring long-term rewards for dedicated players.

From commanding dragons to navigating the choices that shape Westeros, we focused on creating a game that feels true to the universe fans love while giving them room to play their own way.

— Matt Read, Vice President and Studio Head, Warner Bros. Games Boston.

The narrative is equally dynamic, featuring scenario-driven Campaigns that place players at the center of the conflict surrounding the Targaryen succession. Players can choose to fight for Rhaenyra Targaryen’s claim or infiltrate the Greens to shape events from within. These branching storylines respond to player choices, meaning the fate of the realm is directly influenced by the community’s actions on the battlefield.

Exclusive HBO Max Integration

In a first-of-its-kind collaboration, players can link their HBO Max accounts to the game. By watching House of the Dragon Season 3, players can earn escalating in-game rewards for each episode viewed, with a premium reward reserved for those who complete the full season.

Game of Thrones: Dragonfire is available for download today on the App Store for iOS and Google Play for Android.
