GENEVA — International superstar and tech entrepreneur will.i.am is slated to take center stage at the AI for Good Global Summit in Geneva this July. Since 2025, will.i.am has served as the Goodwill Ambassador for the ITU’s AI Skills Coalition, advocating for the idea that the future of artificial intelligence must be open and inclusive to everyone. At the summit, he will spotlight his work in AI education and the value of building technical skills outside of traditional classroom settings.

Innovative Technology and Mobility: A major highlight of will.i.am’s presentation will be the showcase of his “TRINITY” concept, a three-wheeled vehicle that demonstrates how AI can be embedded directly into physical infrastructure. The system integrates conversational AI, real-time contextual awareness, and adaptive decision-making to create a more intuitive human-machine driving experience. This project bridges the gap between AI literacy and real-world deployment scenarios where technology interacts with daily life.

Empowering African Youth: This summit appearance follows the launch of a major joint initiative by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Google, and will.i.am to bring AI and robotics training to underserved communities across Africa. Supported by a $1 million grant from Google.org, the program provides hands-on robotics kits, localized curricula, and teacher training. The initiative is initially launching in five countries: Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Nigeria, and South Africa.

The training targets students aged 10 to 18 whose schools are connected to the internet through the Giga initiative. With 60 percent of young people in Africa currently unconnected, this program seeks to bridge the digital divide and equip the next generation with the tools needed to lead digital transformation. Special emphasis is being placed on reaching girls and other underrepresented groups to ensure broad participation in the global tech-driven economy.

Democratizing the Future of AI: The ultimate goal of these efforts is to transition young people from being mere technology consumers to becoming creators and innovators. Beyond his work with the ITU, will.i.am is also a Professor of Practice at Arizona State University, where he teaches a course titled “The Agentic Self”. In this role, he helps students build their own AI agents while focusing on ethics, inclusion, and the elimination of bias.

As AI becomes a defining force in global societies, these initiatives aim to ensure that the future of the technology is representative and empowering for people everywhere.
