Discovery (WBD) have officially announced a significant expansion of their partnership, establishing JioHotstar as the exclusive home for HBO Max in India. Effective today, the launch introduces a dedicated HBO Max hub within the JioHotstar platform, offering a unified destination for premium storytelling from brands such as HBO, Max Originals, Warner Bros. Pictures, Warner Bros. Television, and DC Studios.

This collaboration marks a major shift in the Indian streaming landscape. Kevin Vaz, CEO of Entertainment at JioStar, described the launch as a defining moment for premium global content access in India, noting that the partnership combines massive scale with high-quality curation to provide a more immersive experience for viewers. James Gibbons, President of APAC at WBD, highlighted India as one of the world’s most “vibrant streaming markets,” stating that the move will allow WBD to build deeper connections with local fans.
