The global box office reached new heights for the weekend ending August 16, 2026, driven by massive superhero sequels and strong international debuts. Leading the charge is Sony’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which has become a certified historic hit. The film earned $188.7 million globally over the weekend, bringing its staggering cumulative total to $2,021,832,000.
