Top Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan, who virtually works round the clock, reveals that his passion for work keeps him going.

The age-defying actor admits that it is difficult to work in strenuous conditions of the cut-throat film industry, but the desire of professional work goads him to work at full throttle.

In an early-morning tweet today, Bachchan informed his Twitter followers that he had worked for more than 20 hours at a stretch between Friday and Saturday. “Ahhhhh .. the fulfilling joys of work,” he exclaimed in his tweet.

Bachchan – who writes in loose English language – also indicated that you have to work hard in today’s highly competitive environment – where even your shadow is competing with you.

“There can never be options or alternatives here. It’s either you or another,” he exhorted today on his blog ‘Bachchan Bol’, adding that he returned from work with the satisfaction of having faced some rather tough work conditions.

Bachchan, 76, also is concerned about the evolution in the film industry, as it is fast moving from the analog to the digital domain.

While participating in a recent film event, he said that “the word film has suddenly lost its charm; for there does not seem to be any need to shoot films on film. It’s all digital now.”

He added that “it was known as the ‘film industry’ they were known as ‘film stars’. So in the complete absence of that medium and that product, it would be quite in order to call ourselves ‘robotic genes’.”
