LONDON — HBO Max has announced the upcoming debut of Harry Potter: The Official Film Podcast, scheduled to launch on May 19, 2026. The podcast is being released in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the first film in the franchise, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.

Hosted by acclaimed film critic and broadcaster Rhianna Dhillon, the series is designed as a “heartfelt, funny and insightful” rewatch of all eight Harry Potter films. Dhillon, a lifelong fan and “proud Slytherin,” will lead listeners through a journey exploring the filmmaking brilliance and emotional depth of the series. She will be joined by a rotating roster of co-hosts from the entertainment world, as well as special guests.

The podcast will feature a recurring segment titled “Magic Makers,” where Dhillon is joined by behind-the-scenes guests who will share unique insights into the craft required to bring the wizarding world to life. The show aims to offer a fresh perspective for both devoted fans and newcomers by revisiting key sequences, themes, and standout performances.

Produced in partnership with Pod People, the series will premiere with a special two-episode launch, followed by weekly episode drops. Each of the eight films will be covered by two dedicated 60-minute episodes.

Fans in the United States can stream the video version of the podcast exclusively on HBO Max. The audio version will be available globally on all major podcast platforms, including Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
