Production is officially underway for the fourth series of the hit sitcom Here We Go, produced by BBC Studios Comedy. The series, which has earned critical acclaim and a BAFTA award, continues to follow the dysfunctional yet endearing Jessop family as they navigate a new set of life hurdles.
The new series, consisting of six 30-minute episodes, sees the entire central cast return to their roles. Katherine Parkinson reprises her role as Rachel, who is navigating graduation and her first steps into political protest, while Jim Howick returns as Paul, an undervalued policeman trying his hand at home renovation.
The Jessops are back! Series 4 of the BAFTA-winning ‘Here We Go’ officially starts filming for the BBC.
Series creator Tom Basden returns as Robin, who is balancing Dragons’ Den ambitions with a questionable new property purchase. Other returning stars include Alison Steadman as the home-brewing Sue, Tori Allen-Martin as new mother Cherry, and Freya Parks as Amy, who is desperately seeking an escape from her family.
Series 4 promises to deliver the “chaos” fans have come to expect, featuring a birthday party, a graduation, a surprise snail allergy, and a particularly eventful “fun run”. As always, the family’s various disasters will be captured in close-up by Sam (Jude Morgan-Collie).
From political protests to lethal home-brew, the chaos of ‘Here We Go’ returns for an all-new series.
Creator Tom Basden expressed his enthusiasm for the production, stating that working with the ensemble is a “pleasure and a privilege” and noting that the early footage is already “shaping up to be the best series yet”. The series was commissioned by BBC Director of Comedy Jon Petrie, with BBC Studios handling global sales for the production. While a premiere date has not yet been set, all previous episodes remain available for streaming on BBC iPlayer.
