IMAX Corporation and Warner Bros. Pictures, a division of Time Warner Inc., have announced that the IMAX 3D documentary adventure Island of Lemurs: Madagascar will debut in IMAX 3D theatres across North America starting Aug. 22.

It is narrated by Academy Award winner Morgan Freeman (Million Dollar Baby), written and produced by Drew Fellman (Born to be Wild 3D) and directed by David Douglas (Born to be Wild 3D).

“Island of Lemurs: Madagascar brings IMAX 3D cameras to perhaps the most compelling region for wildlife on the planet, capturing this environment in the clearest, most vibrant way possible,” said Greg Foster, CEO of IMAX Entertainment.

The film focuses on the wildlife conservation work of Dr. Patricia C. Wright, who recently received the Indianapolis Prize. This award recognizes high achievement in the area of animal conservation.
